Get in the GAME

From its inception back in 1919, GIGCC has focused on building a strong Caddie program for the youth in our surrounding communities.  As a result, GIGCC has been very successful at preparing our Caddies for their young adult lives as well as providing a superior level of service to our players. We are very proud of our Caddies and our program. We are committed in our strive to continue with this long-standing tradition. Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club is a proud supporter of the Evans Scholarship Foundation. To date, more than 50+ Caddies have been awarded scholarships through this outstanding program.

The Evans Scholars Foundation awards full tuition and housing scholarships to high achieving caddies with limited financial means. Established in 1930 by the Western Golf Association and celebrated amateur golfer, Charles "Chick" Evans Jr., the foundation administers the nations largest scholarship program for caddies. Currently 965 students are enrolled in 19 universities. More than 10,600 men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars.
